Emil Redel, 91, of Boise, died Saturday, September 2, 2017, after a long illness.
Emil was born March 1, 1926, in Mackay, Idaho, the youngest child of Herman and Ida Goltz Redel. He moved to Boise with his family in 1929. Emil was a veteran of two wars, WWII and Korea. He married Patricia Dobbs on October 8, 1960, in Winnemucca, Nevada. He retired from the IRS in 1981. Emil joined the LDS Church in 1999, and he and Pat were sealed in the Boise temple in 2000.
He was preceded in death by his mother and two sisters, Dorothea Kitching and Alfreda Middaugh. Survivors include his wife Pat, daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Jay Hill, grandson Christopher Van Sickle, and great granddaughter Ellie Marie Davis.
Graveside services will be held Friday, September 8, at 2:00 p.m., at the Idaho State Veteran’s Cemetery, 10100 Horseshoe Bend Rd., Boise. Brother Ray Cox will officiate.
