Fran Bolto Roper

Fran passed away January 20th, 2017.
Fran was born in Salt Lake City, Utah in February 15, 1924 to George F. Bolto and Agnes Bolto. She grew up in Salt Lake City, where she attended South High School.
She married Howard L. Roper on April 24, 1943 in Fresno California during wartime. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Latter-day Saint Temple. They had one child Marianne.
Fran was an active member of the L.D.S. Church and served in many teaching positions. She had great faith in God and Jesus Christ, and she had a strong testimony of the power of prayer.
Fran was employed by the University of Utah for 15 years as an usher. She worked the athletic events as well as the artistic programs at Kingsbury Hall and Pioneer Theater. Fran liked to keep busy, so she also worked for the Stingers (now the “Buzz”) Baseball team. And in her spare time she volunteered in the gift shop at the St. Mark’s Hospital. Fran loved working with people.
She moved to Boise in 2007 to be close to her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, her brother Mel and her granddaughter Cindy Blomstrom.
She is survived by her daughter Marianne (Tom) Blomstrom of Boise, Idaho, two grandchildren, Cheri Smith (Russell) f Glendale, Arizona, Michael (Laurie) Blomstrom, Boise, Idaho, 8 great grandchildren, Amanda, Katie, Colin, and Carson Briggs, of Peoria, Arizona, and Stephanie, Megan, Caleb and Jacob Blomstrom, of Boise, Idaho.
The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Valley View, Willow Park, and First Choice Hospice for their loving and tender care of Fran.
A private Family service will be held in her memory.
