John Wilford Derosier passed away on November 22, 2017 at the age of 75. On April 3, 1942, John was born in Houlton, Maine to Joseph and Ida May Derosier. He was the ninth child of ten, four brothers and five sisters. John joined the Air Force in 1961. After completing boot camp, John was stationed in Ishmere, Turkey as a Supply Sergeant during the Korean War. Upon completing his overseas tour, John was stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base where he met his bride, Karen Fuhriman. They were married on October 8, 1965. For 52 years John was a loving husband and father to his family.

John loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman and camper. He shared his love of the outdoors with his family and friends. Later in life John took up oil painting. His love of the outdoors could be seen in the mountain scenes he painted. John would paint anything he could get his hands on including saws, of varying lengths and sizes, coffee cans, and animal skulls. As much as he loved to paint he loved sharing his works of art with family and friends more. When John was not spending time with his family or enjoying the outdoors he could be found working in his shop. John enjoyed making things with his hands. As an amateur woodworker, John made Christmas ornaments, picture frames, book cases and his wife’s cedar chest.

John is survived by his wife Karen; his three sons, Joseph (Lisa), John (Kami), and Troy; and his grandchildren, Brittney, Brianna, Ashton, Sierra, Marissa, Thayen and Uriah. A celebration of life will be held on November 29, 2017 at 11 am at Relyea Funeral Chapel, 318 N. Latah, Boise, ID. Family and friends are invited to gather half an hour prior to the service for visiting. Graveside services will follow at Dry Creek Cemetery.
