John Victor Thompson, 69, died Monday, Sept 18, 2017 surrounded by his sisters at West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell. He was born May 6, 1948 in Boise to Victor M. Thompson and Grace Larsen Thompson.

John lived most of his life in Boise and never wanted to leave. Golf was his passion, both recreationally and professionally, as he was employed at many area golf courses.

He was married briefly to Karen Rae Hildwein. His second marriage to Linda Louise Vasil (Ghangraw) also ended in divorce. He is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Shannon (Kevin) Wilson, grandson, Gage Wilson and granddaughter, Alliyah Wilson. Two sisters, Kathryn Stedman and Patricia Wilks, and 5 nieces also survive him.

There will be a graveside service on Sept 20, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Morris Hill Cemetery (317 N. Latah). Arrangements made by Relyea Funeral Chapel.
