On February 14, 2018, Madalyn Bacon returned to her heavenly home and to the arms of her husband, Bob.

Madalyn Lois Bacon was born on June 21, 1926 in Barryton, Michigan to Robert and Mary (Vincent) Cummings. She was one of 9 girls in her family. In 1946, she graduated from Barryton High School, where she played the coronet in the high school band. On December 14, 1946 she married Robert Bacon in Orlando, Florida. They had one daughter, Joanne Baker, in 1948. Their family then moved to Fostoria, Michigan, where they ran a farm. In 1981, after the death of her husband, she started spending her winters in Florida, where she made lifelong friends and eventually settled. She was a devoted member of her church and enjoyed taking many trips with the Senior Patriots group, including a memorable one to Hawaii.

In 2009, she moved to Idaho to live with her daughter and to be near her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She especially enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren and watching them learn and grow. She loved visiting with people and talked to everyone she met while out and about, especially the kids and babies. She enjoyed good health throughout her life and lived a long and full life. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary (Vincent) Cummings; her husband Robert Bacon; sisters, Mildred Huffman, Gertrude Smith, Louise Roby, Pauline Walters, Eva Rankin, and Arlene Ward; son-in-law, John Baker; and grandson, Mark Baker. She is survived by her sisters, Bernadine Welton and Irene Kroy; daughter, Joanne Baker; granddaughters, Kristen (Greg) Homer and Lisa (Curtis) Conde; and great-grandchildren, Kasidee, Isabella, Rockwell, Leora, Mark, Addison, Eli, and Hannah.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at the Relyea Funeral Chapel, 318 N. Latah St., Boise. A viewing will be held at the same location on Tuesday, February 20 from 5-7pm and also from 10-10:45am before the service.
