Margaret Laura Murray, 92, of Boise, died of natural causes July 1, 2017. She was born July 15, 1924, in Meridian, Idaho, to Grace and Hugh Douglas; her family included 9 siblings. She married John Lee Murray on July 27, 1945 in San Francisco. She was a proud homemaker and raised four talented, fun-loving and gracious children. Margaret’s hobbies included sewing, boating, cooking, and traveling the US with John in their motor home. She had many life-long friends and a happy life filled with her precious grandchildren and family activities. Margaret enjoyed planning family oriented holiday events, cooking for her family, providing care for family members and friends, sewing, traveling and playing cards with her children and grandchildren. She especially loved decorating for holidays and family gatherings, and setting a beautiful table of pink crystal and china to celebrate special occasions. She was a member of Whitney United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lee Murray; they were married for 65 years. She is survived by her children and grandchildren; Margarette Horton-Breeding (daughter) of Caldwell, Daniel A. Breeding (son-in-law), Patricia Vice (daughter) of Houston, TX, Roger K. Vice (son-in-law), John Murray, Jr. (son) of Boise, Janet Eld (daughter) of Meridian; grandchildren, Ryan Vice (grandson) of West Columbia, TX, Jodie Vice (granddaughter) of West Columbia, Jennifer Lawson (granddaughter) of Richmond, TX, Robert Lawson (grandson) of Richmond, TX, Helen Eld (granddaughter) of Meridian, David Eld (grandson) of Boise, Alisha Machado-Murray of Boise; great-grandchildren, Bailey Lawson of Richmond, TX, Skyla Vice of West Columbia, TX; Kaylee Lawson of Richmond, TX, Ryker Vice of West Columbia, TX, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the United Methodist Woman, 3315 Overland Rd, Boise, ID 83705. The ladies and clergy of the church were always vigilant over Margaret in meeting her spiritual and emotional needs during her final years. We love them for their care they gave to our dear mother.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Relyea Funeral Chapel, 318 N. Latah St., Boise. Family will greet friends from 10:00-10:50 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will immediately follow at Morris Hill Cemetery. A live broadcast of the service will be available for those who cannot attend.
