Mary Elizabeth (Paul) Yrazabal, 93, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017, of natural causes. Funeral services will be held at 10 am, Friday, October 27, at the LDS Chapel located at 6711 Northview, Boise, Idaho. Friends and family may come to a viewing one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will be at Cloverdale Cemetery following the service. Services are under direction of Relyea Funeral Chapel.

Mary was born January 6, 1924, in Hatch, Idaho, to William John Richards Paul and Mary Edna (Hogan) Paul; she was the second of three children. Prior to Mary starting school, the family moved to Boise, Idaho, where her father farmed many acres and raised Holstein milk cows. Mary attended and graduated Valedictorian from Franklin School on May 23, 1941. Mary was one of only three graduates who attended all 12 school years at Franklin.

After high school graduation, Mary attended and later graduated from Link’s School of Business. With her impeccable secretarial and shorthand skills, she was recruited from Link’s and hired as the new Idaho State Forestry Department Director’s secretary. She loved this job and stayed in contact with her second boss, Roger Guernsey, throughout her life.

Mary married Antoliano Joseph “Tony” Yrazabal on April 17, 1958, and the marriage was later solemnized in the LDS Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah, on July 16, 1972. Mary spent the rest of her life as the homemaker for our family, and she served in various ward and stake callings in the church, including Primary President/Counselor, Relief Society President/Counselor, Visiting Teacher, and her most beloved service as a temple worker in the Boise Temple from the time it was originally dedicated, for many, many years, until her health no longer cooperated.

Survivors include Mary’s children, David McAllister, Shannon Taylor, Shelli (Randy) Schwasinger, and John (Debbie) Yrazabal; 17 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren, with another on the way. Mary is also survived by her sister, Jennie Stout, of Salt Lake City, Utah, and several other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Leon Paul, husband Tony, and many, many lifelong friends.
