Nancy Mary Keller

June 21, 1941 ~ November 1, 2017 (age 76)
Nancy Keller passed away on November 1, 2017 in Boise, Idaho. She was born on June 21, 1941 in Benton Harbor, Michigan as the only and beloved child of Frank and Mary Maul. She was raised in Benton Harbor and graduated from high school there in 1959. Nancy completed her Bachelor’s Degree at Western Michigan University where she met her husband Barry. She went on to complete her Master’s Degree at Indiana University in 1967.

Barry and Nancy moved to Pocatello, Idaho in 1970. In 1974, Nancy began teaching U.S. and World History at Pocatello High School. She loved teaching and enjoyed being the advisor to the twirlers, the pep club, and the school’s prom committee over the years. Nancy made many friends while teaching; their friendships continued even after she retired in 2001.

Nancy will be remembered by all for her love of Diet Dr. Pepper and dachshunds, her vast knowledge of history and politics, as well as her sarcastic wit. Her daughters can recall wonderful times of baking Christmas cookies, watching old movies or Masterpiece Theatre with popcorn, and reading endless numbers of books. Nancy’s three granddaughters share in her joy of reading; she was instrumental in developing their pleasure in finding the perfect new book to read.

Nancy is survived by her daughter Cindy Keller-Peck and Dallas Peck with granddaughter Abby of Boise, Idaho and daughter Jennifer Keller Saathoff and Richard Saathoff with granddaughters Rachel and Anna of Layton, Utah. She is also survived by several friends who have been a great comfort and support to both Nancy and her daughters over the years. She was preceded in death by Barry Keller. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Bannock County Humane Society or the Idaho Humane Society in Boise.
