Shirley Anne Horn Smith was born June 16, 1938, in Strawberry, Arkansas, the sixth child of Jess Hiram Horn and Alie Sarah Jane Eagan Horn. She passed away November 30, 2017, surrounded by her family. She worked for many years off and on as an LPN caring for the elderly. She was employed by the Boise Independent School District for several years and was the Head Custodian at Longfellow Elementary in Boise, Idaho. Before that, she worked at One Hour Martinizing for several years.

She is survived by her two children, Cynthia Marie Davis of Portland, Oregon, and her son Woodrow Smith II and his wife Lela Smith of Boise, Idaho.

She has seven grandchildren: Michael Broxson, Amanda Miller, Chari Stephenson and her husband Anthonee Stephenson, Woodrow Smith III and his wife Liane, Kenneth Aucoin and his wife Kate Aucoin, and Nicholas Aucoin, all of Boise, Idaho; and Melissa Kallberg and her husband Dave Kallberg of Portland, Oregon. She also has 24 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Nadine Teeters and Nina Williamson of Missouri, and two brothers, Jesse Horn and his wife Sue Horn of Missouri, and Terry Horn and his wife Judy Horn of Florida, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband, and three sisters and two brothers.

A simple celebration of her life will be held December 8, 2017, at Relyea Funeral Chapel in Boise, Idaho, located at 318 N. Latah St., Boise, Idaho, with a graveside dedication to follow at Morris Hill Cemetery.

Family and friends are welcome to join the family afterwards at a reception in her honor at her son's house at 1707 N. Westland Dr., Boise, Idaho.
