Alex Andrew Bunch was taken from us after a car accident on February 28th, 2018, at the age of 25.

Alex (Ally Bear) was charismatic, loving and had a personality that was hard to overlook. Although his life was far too short, it was very eventful. As a child, he had an infectious laugh and spent many hours entertaining everyone who knew him. Although he often seemed to strive to underachieve, he had the ability to do anything he set his sights on and possessed unmatched intelligence. He started racing BMX bikes at 3 1/2 years-old (no training wheels!), and later continued racing in outlaw karts. Ally was never too serious about winning, but he was always very serious about enjoying time with his pals! His outdoor sporting continued with his family as he took up, and eventually became serious about, backcountry snowmobiling. He was an inspiration to those he rode with, using his slight frame to manipulate the sled at will, and got to ride with pros who invented modern-day sledding in Idaho and Colorado. He loved his time in the shop, repairing the damage when he was pushing the boundaries, and hanging out with “The Cubs” who rode with him.

Because of his Dad’s job, Alex was fortunate to travel with his family throughout Europe and Asia, in 9 different countries outside the U.S. He spent an extended amount of time in Italy, including snowboarding in the Italian Alps for Christmas and spending New Years’ Eve in Rome, all in the same year! The following spring, he spent spring break in Germany and snowboarded in Innsbruck, Austria for Easter. Alex and his brother were extremely close at this time and easily made friends in Italy, even though neither spoke the language.

Ally had a very close bond and personal relationship with many of his cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. He is survived by his mother, Tami Englert; father, Rick Bunch; brother, Adam Bunch; maternal grandmother, Pat Rowland; paternal grandfather, Elbert Bunch, and many other close family members. He left us far too soon and will forever be love and missed. Our lives will never be the same without our Bear!
