Allen James Hunt, 45, passed away on June 19, 2021 in a Boise hospital. He was born in Boise Idaho to James and Norma (Young) Hunt and was the second of four children.
Allen was disabled by cerebral palsy and mentally was about 2 years old. He attended school programs at Elks Rehab, Lincoln Elementary, Les Bois Junior High, and Borah High School and then attended Gem State Developmental Center in Meridian. He loved school in all its many forms and was always excited to go. He was a happy boy and friends with all those who knew him. Allen loved silly things and slapstick humor, especially children pretending to fall down, just to make him laugh. He loved Mister Rogers and spent many hours in his favorite recliner watching VHS tapes recorded from PBS until they practically wore out. Allen also loved music such as classical piano, Mister Rogers CDs, John Denver and the Muppets Christmas album, and primary songs. He liked to sit by him mama while she played the piano and sang for him. He enjoyed going for walks, car rides, and bike rides with his wheelchair hitched up to his dada’s bicycle.
Allen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved attending Primary. His family loved that each year, a new group of kids got to know and love him. We are thankful for so many wonderful leaders and teachers over the years.
We will miss his grimace of a smile, his hearty laugh, his loud kisses, and even his slobbery fingers. He graced our lives with so much love which has made us better people.
He is survived by his parents, brother Tom (Stacey), sister Kathryn (Bradley) Kindall, brother David, nephew and niece Preston and Hannah Kindall, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral will take place on Friday, June 25, 2021 at the LDS chapel at 3555 S Cole Road at 11am. A viewing will be held prior from 10 to 10:45am. Interment will be at a date yet to be determined.
