Anna Eva Glauche

January 10, 1933 ~ August 8, 2018 (age 85)
Anna Eva Glauche, age 85, died on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, in Boise, Idaho. Eva was a loving mother and grandmother and was affectionately known by her family and friends as “Oma.”

Eva was born in Frielingen, Germany in 1933 to Anna Katherina Kuhn Huehn and Heinrich Huehn.

She met and fell in love with Wilfried (Fred) Glauche and immigrated to the United States with Fred and his parents, Helen Margarethe Kraemer Glauche and Horst Arno Glauche. They settled in Santa Monica, California. Fred and Eva were married in the Los Angeles LDS Temple on October 2, 1959, and were blessed with the birth of their only child, Cindy Glauche Southwick, on October 31, 1966.

They moved to Ketchum, Idaho about 1974. They owned the Wood River Motel and had many wonderful years together. Fred passed away on October 31, 1995, followed by their granddaughter Shannel Southwick on June 29, 1996.

Following Shannel’s death, Eva moved in with her daughter Cindy and son-in-law David and their family. She lived with them for 16 years. She enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters Shannel, Mariah and Savannah, baking, crocheting, listening to German Polka music and watching her favorite movie, The Sound of Music.

Eva was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Dementia in 2012 after the death of her daughter Cindy, who passed away from a long battle of colon cancer in 2011.

Eva is known for her humor and love of “sweets and candy.” We will always carry her memory in our hearts. We are gladdened to know that she has had a joyful reunion with her family that preceded her in death.

Services will be held on Monday, August 13, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., at the LDS Chapel at 7200 Duncan Lane, Boise 83714, with a viewing beginning at 10:00 a.m. preceding the service. Eva will be interred on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Southwick family would like to extend their gratitude to all the staff at The Cottages of Boise and St. Luke’s Boise for their attentiveness and loving care.
