Arlene M. Boss

July 15, 1931 ~ November 4, 2020 (age 89) 89 Years Old

Tribute

Arlene Moss Boss was born in Bountiful, Utah, July 15, 1931, to George S. Moss and Anna LaPriel (Gappmeyer) Moss. Arlene graduated from Wasatch High School in Heber City, Utah, in 1949. She married Jay C Boss at the Logan, Utah LDS temple that same year. They lived in Logan, where Jay went to college and Arlene worked for Dr. Hurst's office. Their daughter Debra was born in 1957.

In 1960, Arlene and Jay moved to Italy, where Jay worked for DelMonte. During their 2 years living in Italy, they explored Europe on the weekends and visited family still living in Switzerland and Austria.

When returning to USA, they moved to Burley, Idaho, and later to Boise. Arlene had numerous jobs that she excelled at, being a hard worker and loyal employee, working in Banking for 26 years, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for 8 years, and then working for EPA as Tribal Liaison for 16 years (calling it "the best job I ever had"). Arlene also managed Vine Street Apartments and worked for Community Education.

Arlene enjoyed helping people and made many close friends. She was active in her church, working in the Young Women's Program, playing piano in Relief Society and being in Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Arlene loved to go camping and fishing. She sewed, knitted and crocheted many beautiful things for family and friends, and she loved cooking, making jam, homemade fudge and loads of other yummy recipes, never showing up at a potluck empty handed.

Arlene having been adopted at 5 days old, had the amazing and wonderful gift of reconnecting with her birth family at the age of 60. Her mother and 6 brothers and sisters were so happy to finally meet their oldest sister, and Arlene was grateful (and overwhelmed) to be part of such a loving and large extended family, having grown up as an only child. They had almost 30 more years to get to know and love each other.

Arlene is survived by her daughter Debbie Aaron (and her husband John), 2 granddaughters, Eanna Aaron and Anneli Langan (and her husband Chris), and 4 grandchildren, JC, Chloe, Andy and Brandon.
