Betty Lou Rademacher

September 8, 1928 ~ October 8, 2021 (age 93) 93 Years Old

Tribute

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Betty Lou Butler Rademacher, 93, of Boise, ID, passed away on October 8, 2021 due to natural causes, with her family at her side.  Betty was born in Emmett, Idaho on September 8, 1928 to George W. and Lula Nelson Butler.  She was the fourth child born into a family of six children.  She always said they were a close family and that she dearly loved her brothers and sisters; and she felt extremely blessed to have had such wonderful parents.

As a child and young woman, she learned to work hard and their family was very close and would do anything to help each other and others who needed a helping hand. She received her education in Emmett and graduated from Emmett High School in 1946.  She was the Senior Class Treasurer and really enjoyed planning all the subsequent class reunions.  Following graduation, she attended the University of Idaho.

Following her time at the U of I, Betty was living in Boise and working for Idaho Power when she met John Rademacher on a blind date.  They married in Letha, ID on March 20, 1954.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.

Betty was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in numerous callings throughout her life; including Ward and Stake YW Presidents, Ward and Stake Relief Presidents, Primary Teacher, and Temple Ordinance Worker. In her later years, Mom served as the Sunbeam Teacher and thoroughly loved her three year old primary children. Her many years of service blessed the lives of her family and she always reflected fondly on all whom she grew to love and work with in her many years of church service. Her "Laurel Girls" stayed in contact with her for years to come.  She was very involved with the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and made many dear and lasting friendships.

Betty's greatest love was her family.  She loved spending time with anyone who was related to her.  Her children are honored that she was their mother.  She was an excellent cook and homemaker, who always had time and patience to give the best advice and always set a prefect example of love, grace, and integrity.  She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She had a way of making each feel they were the most special and dear to her.

Betty is survived by her only remaining sister, Orie Alice McNealy of Meridian, ID; three children, Corrine (Larry) Remm of Price, UT, Dorn (Holley) Rademacher of Boise, ID and Ann Marie Rademacher, also of Boise.  She is also survived by six grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, (two on the way) two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband John; brothers, Boyd, Bob, and Rueben Butler; a sister Marjorie Spencer, and great-granddaughter, Hazel.  She will be greatly missed by all who love her.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, October 15, 2021 in the Relyea Funeral Chapel, located at 318 N. Latah St., Boise. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday afternoon from 1:30 pm – service time. A live stream of the funeral services will be available.
