Tribute

Carole Graves Gibson passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 12, after a brief illness, with her loving family by her side. She was raised in Los Angeles, attended Los Angeles High School and graduated from UCLA with a BA in Education.  She was affiliated with Alpha Phi Sorority and began her teaching career in the LAUSD.

She married the love of her life, Jack Gibson, in 1962 and they settled in Brentwood.
Together they raised two children, John and Kathryn.

Carole was a dedicated volunteer for many organizations that she cared deeply about. In her Los Angeles years, she was committed to Maryvale, Orphanage Guild Juniors and Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA.) After she moved to Boise, she was an active supporter of The Learning Lab and Breaking Chains. She was a devoted member of Brentwood Presbyterian Church.

She and Jack were long time members of the Bel Air Bay Club and enjoyed paddle tennis, ski trips with Southern Skies, travel and time with many close friends.

After Jack’s passing, she moved to Boise, Idaho to be near her son and his family.

Carole will always be remembered for her positive and loving spirit and her kindness in helping others. She will be deeply missed by those whose lives she touched.

Carole is survived by her sister Janet Graves Carsola, her son John and his wife Laura and her daughter Kathryn, as well as her grandchildren Owen and Riley Gibson and Katrina and Eliana Moran.
