Caroline Ann Vogel Wood

Caroline Vogel Wood, age 80, peacefully left this world on the morning of May 29, 2022. Caroline was born October 9, 1941, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Edwin and Wilma Vogel. The family moved to Kuna in 1950 to start the Vogel Family Farm.

Caroline was afflicted with polio at the age of three which left her with lifelong partial leg paralysis. She was determined to live life to the fullest, and that she did. She traveled abroad and worked in the legal profession for over 30 years. She hiked, backpacked, camped, skied, swam, fished, painted pictures, and played the piano in her spare time.

Caroline graduated from Saint Teresa’s Academy (now Bishop Kelly) in 1959, then went on to complete a four-year degree at Boise State. She was very close to her family. She focused on being a mentor to each of her nieces and nephews, trying to teach them the love of the outdoors and other pursuits they were interested in.

In 2000, she married Jim Wood, the love of her life. They were able to retire shortly after getting married and lived their dream for nearly 23 years. They spent summers at their cabin at Henry’s Lake, near Yellowstone, where Caroline learned the art of fly fishing. They returned to Boise in the winter, where they would go to as many Bronco sport events as possible. Caroline loved her Broncos.

Caroline was preceded in death by her parents Edwin and Wilma Vogel and her brother Eddie Vogel.

Caroline is survived by her husband Jim, sister Mary Walker, sister-in-law Debi Vogel, two nieces, four nephews, two grandnieces and 10 grandnephews.
