Cathy Lyn Ramey

Cathy Lyn Hambright Ramey, age 67, passed away on February 15, 2021, after fighting her third battle with cancer. Cathy was born on March 10, 1953, in Hollywood, California, to Doris “Dell” (Freeman) and Ben “Benny Boy” Douglas Hambright. She had two brothers, her twin Douglas Scott and younger brother Dave Howard.

Cathy graduated from El Segundo High in 1971. As a member of the drill team and a cheerleader extraordinaire, her bubbly, exuberant personality helped bolster school spirit. She married her high school sweetheart, Jeffrey Alan Ramey, on November 30, 1973, in the Los Angeles Temple. Shortly after, they moved to Boise, Idaho, to raise their family.

Her kids were her full-time job. She was very supportive and involved in all their activities. After her children were grown, she went to beauty school and started her own business. She was a great listener and a wonderful conversationalist and always made her clients feel at ease when they were in her chair.

She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities. She was always very welcoming. All visitors that came to her house were sure to be entertained and leave with a full belly. She loved to dance! She was a doer! She loved to garden, cook, can her homegrown produce, sew, bake pies, and spoil her grandkids. Cathy will always be remembered for being fun, entertaining, lively, generous, enthusiastic, and a friend to all!

Cathy is survived by her husband Jeff; their six children, Jared Ethan (Kerri Kelson), Bryce Aiden (Cara Maxfield), Darcie Lyn (D. Aaron Brown), Cody Adam (Emily Nefzger), Kelli Mae (Cody Weight), and Kinzie Dawn (Kevin Foulger); her 23 grandchildren (who called her Mammaw); and her two brothers. Her parents predeceased her.
