Cheri Lynn Ferguison, 58, of Boise, Idaho passed on Friday January 8, 2021 in Salt Lake City, Utah after a long battle with liver disease. She was born in Gooding to Jeannie Smith and Bob Ferguison. They moved to Emmett until they divorced. Cheri and her mother moved to Boise. She graduated from Borah High School, and went on to Idaho State University. She returned to Boise and worked as a purchasing planner for 18 years at a local portable building manufacturer. In her younger years, Cheri enjoyed playing fast pitch softball, hunting, and fishing. She played softball in college, and women’s leagues after. Cheri continued to hunt and fish every chance she got, with whoever would go with her. Cheri and Ria met in 2012 on a fishing trip. It was love at first sight. They married in 2016. She is survived by her spouse, Ria Collins; longtime friend Ray Greaby; her mother, Jeannie Smith (Tom); sisters, Lydia Ferguison of Boise, Cindy Madden (Lee), DeAnn Wilson (Bill); brother, Ron Smith (Kristine) of Pocatello; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is also survived by her children, Maize Hublein (Piet) of Georgia, Chris Collett (Kim) of Mountain Home; adopted daughter, Kelsie Jones of New York; and grandchildren, Devin, Ian, and Aaron Hublein, Rebecca, Henry and Andrea Collett. She was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents; father, Bob Ferguison; and brother, Jerry Smith. If you were lucky enough to enter her life, you were family. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
