Cierra Hope Shaffer

July 31, 2000 ~ December 27, 2018 (age 18) 18 Years Old

Tribute

Cierra Hope Shaffer, 18, of Fruitland, Idaho, went to be with the Lord and her Grandpa Gene on December 27, 2018. Cierra was born in Ontario, Oregon, on July 31, 2000, to her mother, Susanne Shaffer, and brother, Chris Torres.

Up until the end of her sophomore year, Cierra attended Ontario High School. The summer of her junior year, she and her family moved to Fruitland, where she obtained her high school diploma. Cierra enjoyed writing poems, woodworking, FFA, and studying politics and government. Her true passion, however, was playing music (trumpet) and marching with the marching bands. If you didn’t find her in the band room practicing or perfecting her marching techniques, you could find her being sarcastic and cracking jokes, trying to make her friends and family smile. Her motto: “If you can make one person smile a day, you’re making a difference.”

Cierra is survived by her mother Susanne, brother Chris, and her beloved cats, Cuddles and Tiger. She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Gene Shaffer.

Cierra’s Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, January 26, 2019, 2:00 p.m., at the Fruitland High School gym. A dinner will follow at the FHS band room. The family is requesting for those who are attending to wear their #CierraStrong shirts or casual clothing.
