Mrs. Margaret Darlene Bramon, age 83, mother to two children ~ Dennis Bramon and Joni Bramon Fehrenbacher ~ passed away Monday morning January 18, 2021, at her home.

Darlene was born March 2, 1937, in Caldwell, Idaho. She was preceded in death by father Francis Edward Arnold, mother Margaret Crawford, stepfather Lester Crawford, brothers Douglas and LeVere, and grandson Tanner Bramon. Darlene was beloved grandmother to 6 grandchildren, Nicholas (Allie) Bramon, Hannah (Brady) Calvert, Rainer (Jessica) Fehrenbacher, Spencer Fehrenbacher, and Lexington (Kyle) Heiss, as well as to 4 great-grandchildren, Naomi Bramon, Piper and Avery Calvert, and Season Heiss.

Darlene leaves the rich legacy of a loving family and many career accomplishments.
Darlene graduated from Nampa High School in 1955 and subsequently married Franklin Bramon from Nampa, Idaho, in November 1955. They moved to Seattle, as Franklin was in the United States Navy stationed on the Seattle-based USS Essex aircraft carrier. Their two children were born respectively in 1959 and 1963.

Darlene later worked directly for President James (Doc) Taylor at College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls from 1975 to 1980. She moved on to become a successful commercial banker, first serving with Mountain States Savings and later becoming a Vice President of commercial lending for Bank of America in Ketchum, Idaho.

Darlene served on the corporate Board of Directors of Seattle-based Vacation International and was appointed by the Governor of Idaho to serve on the Idaho Housing and Finance Board, where she ultimately served for 24 years.

Active in state politics, Darlene was appointed to serve as the Idaho Committeewoman for the Idaho Republican party. Darlene and Franklin attended a number of national party conventions as official delegates, had a private invitation to the inauguration of George W. Bush, and attended a number of private-invitation White House Christmas parties. A particular highlight was an invitation to join President George and Laura Bush with actor Robert Duvall at a private movie showing in the White House movie theater.

Darlene loved the adventure of the outdoors and was an avid camper. Many weekends you could find Darlene with Franklin fishing, hunting, boating, or cooking another meal at their campsite.

Her home church was Eagle Nazarene Church. She will be sorely missed by family and friends.

Darlene is survived by her husband Franklin Bramon of Eagle, Idaho, Dennis Bramon (Sherri) of Meridian, Idaho, Joan Fehrenbacher (Scott) of Squamish, British Columbia, Nicholas (Allison) Bramon of Boise, Idaho, Rainer (Jessica) Fehrenbacher of Abbotsford, British Columbia, Hannah (Brady) Calvert of Meridian, Idaho, Spencer Fehrenbacher of Langley, British Columbia, and Lexington (Kyle) Heiss of Squamish, British Columbia. 

The family expresses appreciation to the staff at St. Luke’s Hospital, the St. Luke’s Hospice staff, and the many nurses and physicians who participated in her medical care.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, January 19, at 2:00pm with Pastor Duane Buhler officiating. Kenny Durham will serve as pianist. The service will be livestreamed (link located below), and there will be no graveside service due to COVID-19 restrictions.
