Denise Camille Olechea

Denise was born May 3, 1956, in Boise, Idaho, to Henry and Juanita Olechea. She graduated from Boise High School and through the years lived in California, Michigan, Oregon, and Washington, before she moved back to Idaho. After working in finance for many years, she took an early retirement in 2009. Denise loved to travel, spend time with her family and was a proud member of the Basque community. She resided in Boise, Idaho, until her death November 14, 2018.

Denise was preceded in death by her mother and father and is survived by her brother Henry, sister Connie (Mahlon), brother Ray (Gayle), niece Michelle (Jimmy), nephews Brent (Joy), Scott (Becky), great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews, and cousins, all of whom she loved very dearly.

At Denise’s request, she will be cremated and her ashes scattered at Cannon Beach, Oregon, at high tide in October. Donations may be made to Euzkaldunak, 601 Grove Street, Boise, ID 83702 or The Basque Museum and Cultural Center, 611 Grove Street, Boise, ID 83702.
