January 20, 1960 ~ August 30, 2021 (age 61) 61 Years Old

Tribute

Dennis C Fennell, 61, of Boise, ID passed away on August 30, 2021 at his home of natural causes.

Dennis was born on January 20, 1960, in Butler, PA, to Earl and Diana Fennell. Dennis grew up in East Butler, PA. He graduated from Butler High School in 1978. In November 1981, just before Thanksgiving, Dennis met the love of his life Kathy. It was love at first sight. Dennis and Kathy were married August 7, 1982. Dennis worked for Magnetics in East Butler, PA, before moving to Boise, ID, in 1988. Once in Boise, he started in the car business, working for a variety of dealerships and auto auctions in the Treasure Valley for 33 years. He spent the last 13 years working for Dennis Dillon in Boise as a Pre-Owned Inventory Manager. Dennis was also a music minister for a time at Cloverdale Church of God in Boise.

Anyone who knew Dennis knew a few things for sure ~ he loved God, he loved his family, he loved cars (especially old muscle cars) and he LOVED the Pittsburgh Steelers! He loved Christmas, especially the homemade frosting on the sugar cookies! He loved to watch everyone open their presents, and he had a childlike awe when he put up the decorations every year. He had a great sense of humor and would laugh even if you told him a bad joke. His only hobby was singing praise and worship songs to his God and King, not just on Sundays but everyday! Driving from dealership to dealership while working, he would sing praise, and some songs would move him to tears. He owned a karaoke machine that he used to record praise and worship CDs for his family back east because they missed his warm soothing voice. He met very few people who didn’t automatically fall in love with him. He was the most genuine and accepting man ~ he didn’t care what you looked like, what your background was, or how much money you had in your bank account. He treated everyone the same ~ with dignity and respect. He gave so much of himself and never asked for anything in return. He always put others before himself. He loved God and his family more than anything in the world. Before his parents passed away, he would talk to them on the phone a few times a week, and every night he would spend a few hours on Facebook Messenger with his daughter Diana talking about life or sending random funny gifs. He was the type that would give you the shirt off his back ~ even if he didn’t have another ~ just to make sure you were warm. He loved all of his pets over the years ~ from his dog BooBoo to most recently his cats Booties, BarBar and Puffy. He loved feeding the neighborhood squirrels peanuts when he would get home from work, and a couple of them would even take them right out of his hand! He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Gone too soon for those of us he left behind, but we know that God’s timing is always perfect. He touched so many lives over the years, and his family prays that his legacy will carry on by all those whose lives he affected.

Dennis is survived by His wife of 39 years Kathy L Fennell, daughter Diana and son-in-law Joseph Booth, mother-in-law Pauline Dunkle, brother Earl (Lois) Fennell, brother-in-law Joseph (Nina) Dunkle, sister-in-law Vera (Jeff) Lough, brother-in-law Gary (Trisha) Dunkle, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his father-in-law Orval Dunkle, brother-in-law Robert Dunkle, mother Diana D Fennell, father Earl S Fennell, as well as three angel grandbabies.
