Dorothy Elaine Virgin Browning passed away on November 20, 2022, shortly after dozens of friends and family gathered by her bedside.
Born February 19, 1924, in Rigby, Idaho, to Jehu and Charlotte Virgin. She was one of 8 children. She married Laurence Flamm Browning in 1941 and together they raised five beautiful children. She was married to Laurence for 67 years, sealed to him in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple, and together they served an LDS Mission in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Dorothy had a vivacious spirit, and she loved her large family, her countless friends, and her church with great passion. She filled nearly a century on earth with many favorite things, including golfing, bowling, playing yogi, square dancing with her husband, picking huckleberries, traveling, tending her raspberry and rose bushes, and taking care of many dogs over the years, lastly Bear. She was a wonderful seamstress and a talented hairdresser and worked as a professional cosmetologist for many years.
Dorothy was loved by so many, including her five children: Judy Swann (Paul), Linda Hall, Carol Lynn Chase (Richard), Wylie Browning (Joyce), and Sue Browning; 20 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren with one on the way. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Laurence, her daughter Sue, and son-in-law Richard Chase.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 26, at 11:00am, at the LDS Chapel at 4921 N. Mitchell St. Boise, ID 83704, with a viewing from 10-10:45am. Dorothy will be laid to rest in Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Pocatello, Idaho.
