Tribute

Douglas Kay Perrenoud (Doug), 64, of Meridian, ID, passed away December 29, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family.

Doug was born October 28, 1957, in Rexburg, ID, to Kay H and Ilene Fisher Perrenoud. Doug had four younger siblings; Jack, Bob, Ron, and Barb. He grew up in the Rexburg and Iona area, graduating from Madison High School in 1976.

Following a whirlwind romance, Doug married Lisa Jenkins, the love of his life, on February 1, 1985. They were married in the Idaho Falls Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Notably, it was 48 -0 on the day they were married, pipes were frozen and cars wouldn’t start, but nothing could deter him from marrying his sweetheart. Their family was completed by 3 lovely daughters; Kami, Ashley, and Brittany. He loved his little girls and devoted his time to his family.

Doug attended Ricks College in Rexburg, ID, and received an Associates Degree in Marketing/Restaurant Management. He was recognized as being an Outstanding Student Leader. Doug loved to cook and worked in the restaurant and food service industries for many years. His daughters loved to go where “Daddy worked” to get special treats.

His girls grew up and Doug was finally blessed with sons when Chris and Michael joined the family. Soon, Doug became Grandpa to Mason, Alexander, Audrey, Danielle, Elizabeth, Jason, and Evangeline. Doug’s favorite activity was spending time with his family. His children and grandchildren never questioned that they were loved.

Doug was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is remembered as being “always kind to others." He was a humble and quiet man with a big heart. He found joy and humor in everyday life, especially when he was with his family.

Doug is survived by his wife Lisa; children: Kami & Christopher Field, Ashley Perrenoud, and Brittany & Michael Briner; grandchildren: Mason, Alexander, Danielle, & Elizabeth Field and Audrey, Jason, & Evangeline Briner; and brother Bob Perrenoud and sister Barb Gneiting.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Meadowgrass Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for all of their love, support and service, and to AllCare Hospice for going above and beyond to serve Doug and his family in his final hours.

Doug’s family was his whole life, and he will be truly missed.
