Eric Christopher Larsen

May 17th, 2023, Eric Christopher Larsen left this life, and passed on to the next, where he was reunited with his beloved wife, Sue.  Born May 7th, 1952, in Seattle, Washington, to Tom and Marie Larsen, Eric had one older brother, Tom, and four younger siblings: Mike, Nancy, Kathleen and Cindy. After finishing school, Eric moved to Idaho, and on June 20th, 1974, he married Susan Shaffer.  They had three children: Erica, Stacy and Shaun, and four grandchildren: Chance, Morgan, Samantha and Caden.

Family was Eric’s greatest pride and joy – particularly his children and grandchildren – but Eric’s family extended far beyond his own flesh and blood.  He was the life of any party and the center of any gathering.  He loved the outdoors, and split his time between his home in Meridian and his Cabin in Idaho City.  Eric made a career in concrete work, but he made his life camping, hunting, fishing, and most of all laughing.  His wit and wild sense of humor could make anyone laugh, and he had a way of capturing any audience.  If he gave you a hard time, you knew you were on his good side.  He could make you feel uncomfortable and at home all at the same time. 

Eric spent his last year battling a brain tumor, but he went out on his own terms.  He never stopped loving his family or giving the nurses a run for their money.  He spent his 71st birthday in his own home with his family, visited his daughter’s new home and lived to see his granddaughter graduate from college the week before his passing.  Eric was a true champion, and the world will never be the same without him.

He is survived by his three children, Erica, Stacy, and Shaun, his four grandchildren, Chance, Morgan, Samantha and Caden. Eric is also survived by his brothers Tom and Mike, his sisters Kathleen and Cindy, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Eric is preceded in death by his wife Sue, of 45 years, his parents, Tom and Marie Larsen, and his sister Nancy Williams.

Services will be held at Relyea Funeral Home on Thursday, May 25th at 11:00 AM with a reception following.
