Garth David Holt, beloved son of Elaine and Larry Holt, passed away on January 12, 2022 in Meridian, Idaho of medical complications.
Garth was born on January 17, 1970 in Clearfield, Utah where his father served in the U.S. Air Force at Hill Air Force Base. Upon his father’s discharge from the service, he moved to Winnemucca, Nevada with his parents. There his younger brother, Chad, was born. His family resided in Winnemucca until 1976 when the family moved to Boise, Idaho. There his sister, Suzanne was born completing his beloved and eternal family.
While in Winnemucca he was blessed with some close and endearing friends. He attended kindergarten and first grade there. Being in a small town he was blessed with small classes and a great learning experience.
Upon moving to Boise he was enrolled in the Boise School District and attended Franklin and Amity Elementary schools. He attended Borah High School graduating in 1987. He was active in sports, wrestling, and playing his beloved golf. He lettered in golf three years playing on the varsity golf team. After high school he attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho.
He had a great love of the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, four wheeling, jet skiing, and snowmobiling. He enjoyed fixing and repairing the jet skis and snowmobiles with the often needed assistance of his brother. He enjoyed that because it gave him an excuse to be with him. He also enjoyed attending the auto races with his brother. He loved to ride four wheelers, fly fish, and shoot with his dad and it was a mutual good time together.
He was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, being endowed and holding priesthood positions. He was married in the temple and had three daughters, Brianna, Alyssa, and Meghan.
He was employed by United National Foods Inc. as a Technology Engineer. His office was located in Boise but he traveled around much of the country as his services were needed.
Garth is survived by his parents, Larry and Elaine Holt; his brother, Chad Holt; his sister, Suzanne Phillips; and his daughters, Brianna Huber, Alyssa Holt, and Meghan Watson; and grandson, Asher Watson.
