Gerald Scott Robinson, 86, passed away on September 1, 2017, in Kuna, Idaho, surrounded by his family. Scott battled Alzheimer for the past 6 years.
Scott was born to Walter Scott and Myrtle (Riding) Robinson on October 1, 1930, in Panguitch, Utah, where he was raised and graduated high school in 1948. He married the love of his life, Vrene Stewart, on April 10, 1953, at the St. George LDS Temple in Utah. They spent 64 years happily married. Scott and Vrene have been blessed with 6 children, 19 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.
Scott was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in the United States Navy for four years and then moved to California and served in the LA County Sheriff’s Department for 13 years. In 1969 Scott and Vrene moved to Boise, Idaho. In 1970 they purchased and ran Mercury Cleaners for 15 years. In 1972 Scott, with his friend AG Bell, started Robell Fence Company. He ran the business up to the start of his battle with Alzheimer.
Scott is survived by his wife Vrene, his children Dale Robinson of Boise, DeLane (Allison) Robinson of Colorado, Darel (Karen) Robinson of Hawaii, his son-in-law Jerome Roessler of Kuna, and brother Donald (Eilene) Robinson of Utah. Scott was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bob Robinson and Paul Robinson, and daughters, Debra Roessler, Dorene Robinson and a still-born.
Memorial Services will be held on September 7, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel at 3200 Cassia St., Boise. A closed casket visitation will immediately precede the funeral from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m.
