Glenn LeRoy Farmer

On Friday, January 1, 2021, Glenn Leroy Farmer, loving husband and father of four, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Courtyard at Jamestown Assisted Living in Provo, Utah, at the age of 92.

Glenn was born in Clifton, Idaho, to Erastus Farmer and Hattie Roper on January 17, 1928. He graduated from Boise High School in 1946. Glenn was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Army right after high school in the occupation of Japan in 1946. He was a faithful member of the LDS church and served in the Eastern Canada mission after his military service. Glenn married Jo Ann Hatch on March 5, 1953, in Winnemucca, Nevada. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls temple a year later on their anniversary. He was a prominent businessman in Boise, Idaho, for nearly 30 years as the cofounder and owner of G&G Insulation.

Glenn was an avid supporter of the Boy Scouts of America and served as a scoutmaster in Boise for many years. He served the LDS church as a temple worker for 20 years at the Boise temple. Glenn is known for his kind and generous nature and for being the candy man to children of his church and neighbors of his assisted living center.

Glenn is preceded in death by his brothers, Lavon, Walton and Grant, and his sisters, Duella Tippetts, Rhoda Ann Giles and Fern Davis. He is also preceded in death by his lovely daughter, Karen Farmer, who died in infancy. Glenn is survived by his loving spouse of 67 years, Jo Ann Farmer, his three sons, Kevin, Gregg and Mark, 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a small family funeral will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021, 10:00 a.m., at the Nelson Family Mortuary in Provo, Utah. A graveside service will be held Friday, January 8, 2021, 1:00 p.m., at Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens, in Meridian, Idaho.
