Henriette (Rita) Amalia Oberleitner
January 19, 1936 ~ July 8, 2020 (age 84) 84 Years Old
Oberleitner, Henriette Amalia (Rita), Boise passed away on 7/8/20. Rita was born in Dolyna, Poland on 1/19/36. Her family escaped Communist occupation by fleeing to Germany in 1939, and after World War II, immigrated as a teenager to New Jersey (USA) in 1950. After earning her degree at Rutgers University, she met her husband of 60 years Raymond, and became a social worker, teacher, then mother to four boys. Her family called Franklin Park, NJ home for her boys’ formative years, and she was her boys’ den mother, head cheerleader and bus driver to a multitude of school, sports and scouting activities. Rita and Ray moved to Minnesota in 2009 and enjoyed traveling, visiting her boys and spoiling her 7 grandchildren in California, Idaho and Minnesota. She moved to Boise, Idaho in 2017 after her husband passed away, where she made many new friendships. She is survived by her children Richard, Robert, Ron and Paul. A local memorial service will be held at St. John’s Catholic Church (807 N 8th St, Boise, ID 83702) at 10:00am on August 21st.
