Jackie Darlene Watts

August 27, 1947 ~ January 8, 2022 (age 74) 74 Years Old

Tribute

Jackie D. Watts, 74, died unexpectedly January 8th, 2022, in her home in Kuna, Idaho. She was born on August 27, 1947 in Garrett, Indiana to Ernest Jackson Estlick and Virginia Gardner Estlick. Jackie was the second of seven siblings. Jackie graduated from El Cajon Valley High School in 1965 and started working at The Daily Californian. She met Louis Watts, her sweetheart of 56 years while working at the local newspaper. Her dear friend Sandy Hood introduced her to Lou and two weeks after their first date, they drove up to Las Vegas and were married in the Little White Chapel and the rest is history.

Jackie was a devoted and faithful member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. She loved the gospel and found joy in serving others. She found peace and purpose in doing temple work and genealogy. In her lifetime Jackie showed her entrepreneurial side by the various businesses she started; Candy’s Curls, Aunt Jackie’s Daycare and Artist For A Day.

Jackie was loved by so many. Most people who knew her, would say she was selfless, kind, always willing to help and devoted to her family. She spent her days filling the cups of all the people she loved most, without expecting anything in return. Her legacy of service and living a Christ-centered life will live on in her family.

To truly honor who Jackie was, we would have to pay homage to who she was as a Nana. In 2000 she was blessed with her first two grandsons and from that moment on Jackie settled into a new life, that was all about being the best Nana. Since then she has amassed a whopping 39 grandchildren in total. Jackie knew all her grandbabies birthdays and their favorite places to eat. The older grandchildren can remember how their Nana wanted to make sure she had a connection with each of them, so she would take them out individually to spend quality time together. She was as special to each of them as they were to her.

Jackie had no secondary education or accolades, she measured her success by the impact she was able to have as a homemaker and mother. She was proud of the family she created with her dear husband. Jackie is survived by her husband Lou Watts; her four sons, Walter Watts (Melody); Todd Watts (Lisa); Eliot Watts (Carmen); Vohn Watts (Bunni); and her four daughters, Melissa Eckhardt (Larry); Amanda Lee (Jason); Candace Evans (Eric) and Amber Shrader (Matt). Adopted son from Venezuela, Ivan Bravo (Steffani). Jackie is also survived by her brother David Estlick (Mickey); and her five sisters, Millie Kettel (Steve); Jan Darby (Craig); Paula Reeve (Carter); Trudy Ross (Bill); Michelle Cooper (Gary) and their families.
