Tribute

Jacob Logan Loffer (Jake) died at the age of 26 on Monday, May 31, after a long and hard fought battle with addiction.

Jake was born on September 22, 1994, in Boise, Idaho to Carolyn Cort and Chris Loffer.  He was an active and joyful boy, who loved playing outside, the Tennessee Titans, and his golden retriever, Chance.  Jake spent many years playing PAL soccer and Optimist football.  An avid reader, Jake could hold intellectual and philosophical discussions on a wide variety of topics.  He was a loyal and devoted big brother.  Jake will be remembered for his intellect, his wit, a brilliant and infectious smile and endless potential.

Jake was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Lyle and Patti Loffer.  He is survived by his parents, step parents Mike and Angie, siblings Calvin and Jenna, step-siblings Jordan, Danielle, Aubrey and Sydney, maternal grandparents Bob and Pam Cort, cousins, aunts and uncles and many, many friends.

There will be an informal gathering for friends and family to remember Jake at 3:00 on Thursday, June 10 at Relyea Funeral Home.

Memorials or donations may be made to Terry Reilly Health services.  Allumbaugh House professionals provided compassionate, dignified care for Jake when he reached out for help just weeks ago.  It’s a desperately needed community resource for those who are still battling addiction.  If you can’t give, please remember Jake and practice compassion and fierce love for those in the throes.
