James Dale Kidd

James ”Jim” Dale Kidd, 68, died Saturday, March 17, 2018 at St. Luke's Hospital in Meridian following an illness.

Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 36 years, Vicki Kidd; his sons Travis Kidd, Tod Kidd, and Stephen Schweitzer; his daughters Sherri and Keith Poston, Stephanie and Darin Monk; his ten grandchildren Brok Kidd, Halie Kidd, Chassie Kidd, Jarah Poston, Ashleigh Poston, Jackson Monk, Sydney Monk, Cooper Schweitzer, and Dylan Schweitzer; his great-grandchild, Emma Poston; his brother Steve and Patty Kidd; his sisters, Wileen and Gordon Henderson, Sharon and Marvin Hassell, and Patty and Boyd Garfield. He will be forever remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Dale Kidd and Edna Rasmussen.

Jim was born in Ogden, Utah; raised in Declo, Idaho. He loved racing cars and later enjoyed watching his grandson Brok race. He farmed and helped his dad in a tree-topping business before serving in the Army during the Vietnam War. Jim then attended Boise State University, graduating with a bachelor's degree in real estate. Jim started his career selling real estate and switched to long-haul trucking for the remainder of his working life. He met his wife Vicki and they were inseparable on the road together for 20 years.

Jim had two passions in life—sailing and his family. He owned three different sailboats and sailed (and raced) in many mountain lakes, the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Gulf of Mexico. He became “PAPA JIM” and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the Relyea Funeral Chapel, 318 N Latah, Boise, Idaho. Friends and family are invited to the visitation from 1:00 p.m. until the start of the service.
