James Timothy Nelson

James Timothy "Tim" Nelson, 78, of Boise, passed away peacefully Monday, August 30th, 2021. Tim was born July 10th, 1943, in Boise, Idaho, the son of Archibald Roy Nelson and Verna Maxine Stacey Nelson. He was raised in Boise, attending St. Mary's School, North Junior High and Boise High School, graduating in 1961. Tim then attended Boise Junior College and moved to Pocatello to attend Idaho State University, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Tim began a career with the Idaho Power Company in 1973, and after 26 years of service, retired in 1999. Tim enjoyed spending time at his ranch in Placerville, clearing deadfall, building ponds, being a good steward to the forest and feeding all the wildlife. He was an avid coin and stamp collector, excellent snow skier and enjoyed riding dirt bikes. Tim was a true animal lover, feeding many birds, ducks, squirrels, and beloved cats throughout his life.

Tim is survived by his two children, Wendy Davis and Garrick Nelson; his brother William F. and his wife Darlinda Brownell Nelson; his nieces Mary Thomas and Anna Fraley; cousins Danny, Jerry, and Terry Nelson; and 2 grandchildren, Joey Lowry and Trey Davis. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, sister Mary Lou, nephews Raymond and William "Billy" Navarro, and grandson Cody Lowry. Tim will be laid to rest in Morris Hill Cemetery, St. Johns Section 11 with his mother and sister, adjacent to his father and uncles. A celebration of life with family will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Idaho Humane Society. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Alphonsus who cared for Tim.
