Janice Elaine Harding

Janice Elaine Nelson was born on April 4, 1936 in Barnesville, Minnesota, the oldest child of Leo Nelson and Eleanora Brusven. She worked in her father's bakery from age 10, graduating from Barnesville High School in 1954, and went on to college at Wenatchee, Washington.  Janice later finished her degree at St. Cloud, Minnesota with a major in elementary education. She taught school in Virginia, Minnesota before marrying Weldon K. Johnson of Duluth, Minnesota on July 30, 1960. Jan and Weldon lived in Hibbing, Minnesota; Littleton, Colorado; and Chelsea, Michigan; before settling in Boise, Idaho in 1975. She later taught at Northview Montessori in Boise.
 
Weldon passed away in 1981 and Jan remarried Charles M. Harding in 1988. Together, Jan and Chuck owned and operated AutoSort Commercial Mailing Services until their retirement. Charles passed away in 2013. 
 
Jan was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities among her congregations. She enjoyed many hobbies including: pottery, poetry, making jewelry, and family history. Jan leaves behind a legacy of four children, five step-children, twenty-nine grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren with more on the way. She will also be missed by her siblings, nieces, nephews, and countless friends who love her dearly. 
 
Janice Elaine Nelson Johnson Harding passed away at age 85 on November 23, 2021.
 
Children: Nancy (John) Mitton, Beth (Terry) Davis, Edmund (Cheryl) Johnson, and Sara (Bryant) Smith.
Step-Children: Cheryl (Ed) Johnson, Kimberly (William) Stumbo, Charles Harding, Steve (Becky) Harding, and Kristin Harding.
 
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 8620 W. Goddard Road, Boise, ID 83704, at 1:00 PM. A viewing will preceed the funeral service from 12:00-12:50 PM at the church. Interment will be at Dry Creek Cemetery on Monday, November 29, 2021 at 10:00 AM.
