John Augustus Borden

Friends, family and loved ones mourn the loss of their beloved John “Augie” Borden, who is survived by his mother and stepfather, Tref and Will Borden; his father and stepmother, Mike Brushafer and Valerie Leavitt; his sisters Isabella and Sophie Borden; and his partner Lucy Adams. John was an avid outdoors enthusiast, a loyal friend, and above all a compassionate and loving person. He left his home in the Boston area and built a life for himself in Boise, Idaho surrounded by wonderful family and friends, including stepbrother and sister-in-law Kristian and Jaycie Leavitt. Throughout his life, John struggled with mental health issues. Despite all he had going for him, he tragically lost this battle. His family hopes that John’s life and legacy underscores the importance of connection, compassion, and support for the people you love.

The family is planning a celebration of life for John both in Boston (late 2023) and in Idaho (spring 2024).
