Tribute


Lamona King Helphenstine returned home to her Heavenly Father and joined her eternal companion Ned, on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents Glenn and Ellen King, her brother Cecil king (Alice), and sisters Alice Mae Grover (Melvin), Ruth Pabst (Bill) and brothers in law Robert Olsen and Stephen Thornton. She is survived by her three sisters, Maurine Olsen, Mary Bolinder (Robert) and Ann Thornton. Her three children, Duqui Helphenstine, Monique Smart (Keven), and DaVee Wayman. Eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Ned and Lamona were sealed for time and all eternity June 16, 1953 in the Idaho Falls temple. Lamona lived a life of service, which emulated her testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. As a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Lamona held many callings, served a full time mission with her sweetheart Ned to Raleigh North Carolina, served as a temple worker in the Jordan River, Boise and Meridian temples and indexed over 1 million records.

A viewing will be held in Meridian Idaho on Friday November 5th at 1615 NW 2nd St from 6-8pm. Services will be held in West Valley City Utah on Monday November 8, 2021 at 4270 S Falcon St. A viewing will be held from 12:30 - 1:30pm. A funeral service will be at 1:30pm with interment at Valley View Memorial.
