Leda S Hall, 94, of Boise, passed away on her birthday Saturday, March 27, 2021, at home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on March 27, 1927, at the “Hanson Place” in Annis, ID, to Louis Charles Scott and Phyzepha May Lott Scott. She attended Annis Elementary and graduated from Midway High School. Later, she continued her education at the University of Idaho, where she earned her B.S. degree in Home Economics. She continued at the University of Idaho and earned her Master’s in Home Economics in 1967. She culminated her higher education with a Ph.D. from Ohio State University in 1972. She later finished her career as the Home Economics Department Chairman at Boise State University. Over her distinguished career as an educator, her focus was always on the students. Her “Girls,” as she called them, were what made it all worth it. She loved them and became a role model and lifelong friend to many.
Leda married Cory Scrimscher on December 18, 1942. They spent many happy years together in Iona, ID, and then moved to Culdesac, ID, in 1957, where they lived on their “Ee Da Hao” ranch until he passed away in 1971.
Leda was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully in many callings over her life. As a Primary and Sunday school teacher, she loved the children she taught just as she did her Home Ec. “Girls”. She was called on June 12, 1980, to serve as a full-time missionary in the Louisiana Baton Rouge mission.
After returning from her mission, she married Lee Hall on December 31, 1980. With that marriage, she gained the family she had always yearned for. Lee brought four children to the marriage, and Leda loved them all. Some of Leda’s fondest memories were having some of her sons and grandsons serve missions. Life with Lee was always an adventure. Lee passed away in 2008 after a battle with cancer.
After that, Leda’s life focus became serving others. She had a ready smile and a hug ready for anyone who came within her circle of influence. She loved her parties, and she loved involving others in the planning and execution of them. Her culminating achievement in this area was holding out until her 94th “birth” day to move on from this life ~ thus ensuring a grand entrance and her ultimate party on the other side.
Leda is survived by her sister Nita S. Parmer of Boise and sons Kevin (Cathi) Hall of Middleton, ID, Phillip Hall of Boise ID, Robert (Denise) Hall of Santa Rosa, CA, and Roaalee Hall of Salida, CO.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters and two husbands.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Apr. 1, 2021 at the Desert Ward LDS Chapel at 5751 S. Five Mile Road in Boise, with Bishop Aaron Chesley officiating. Family and friends are welcome to meet with the Parmer and Hall families for a viewing from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. prior to the funeral.
