Loa Anderson
September 8, 1940 ~ April 6, 2021 (age 80) 80 Years Old
7 Flowers or Condolences have been shared with support of Loa's family - View on Tribute Wall
Loa was born on September 8th, 1940, the first daughter to Erma and Vernon Walker and one of 13 children. She met and married her sweetheart, Boyd Anderson, on December 5th, 1961. They lived and farmed in Nampa (6 yrs), Dietrich (6 yrs), and in Kuna (44 yrs). She (and Boyd) spent the last 4 years living on the banks of the Snake River in Hammett finding shapes in clouds, sitting in the shade, drinking lemonade, napping in the sun, and making bosom friends with everyone that met her.
She and Boyd spent a year and a half in Africa serving a humanitarian mission teaching self-reliance and sustainable farming to the people of Kenya and South Africa. She was dedicated to healthy eating and exercise throughout her life. She won multiple (14 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze) medals at the Idaho Senior Olympics and competed and placed at the national Olympics. She could do more ab crunches in the last weeks of her life than most women half her age. Her lifetime achievements include making over 1000 quilts that she shared with beloved family, friends, refugees, homeless, and shelters. She baked over 50,000 loaves of delicious bread, canned more jars of fruit than could ever be counted, and loved everyone that crossed her path. Her crowning achievement was raising 11 children in a home filled with the lessons of hard work, music, and love.
Loa is survived by her husband, Boyd; her children, Gene, Julie, Cindy, Sid, Sandra, Rollin, Bonnie, Jenny, Jodi; 17 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren (with 3 more on the way).
