Lois Ann Riley

January 21, 1935 ~ June 5, 2022 (age 87) 87 Years Old

Tribute

Lois Ann Riley, 87, of Boise, Idaho died Sunday June 5th, 2022.

At her request, private family graveside services will be conducted at Pineview Cemetery in Ashton, Idaho.

Lois was born to Eva Glover Hedrick and Bee W. Hedrick in Ashton January 21, 1935. Lois was raised and educated in Ashton schools, graduating from North Fremont High School. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Lois appreciated and enjoyed good music and instilled in her children the same appreciation.

Following her graduation, she was employed by Dr. A.A. Krueger and worked in the medical field for several years.

Lois married Robert J. Riley on September 4th, 1957. They have three children, 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Throughout their 65-year marriage Lois moved from ocean to ocean following her husband’s employment with the U.S. Department of the Interior.

Lois’ years growing up on the Hedrick farm on the old fish hatchery road found her busy with farm chores. She was concerned that her job of milking cows every morning and evening would raise eyebrows of her school friends. But those responsibilities helped make her the fine person she was.
Lois was one who lived a positive life. Her expression of “Thank You” was given to those who provided even the simplest of service in her behalf. Even on stormy days she would always begin the day by saying “This is a nice day,” and end the day with “We had a good day didn’t we.”

Lois is survived by her husband and families of her three children- Patty Cushing, Brian Riley (Roberta), and Nancy Busby (Kent). Grandchildren- Cameron and David Cushing; Grant and Derek Riley; Riley and Ryan Busby and Annika Busby Copeland. Great-Grandchildren (Russell and Ramsey Cushing; Paisley and Charlotte Cushing; Nova Riley and Hallie Busby). Also surviving are Sisters-in-Law Erlene Hedrick and Mary Olson. Lois’ parents and Brothers Wilbur and Norman Hedrick proceeded her in death.
Lois gives thanks to neighbors and friends who were so kind and generous throughout her life.
