Lonnie Leroy Hart

March 30, 1942 ~ July 21, 2018 (age 76) 76 Years Old

Tribute

Lonnie Leroy Hart of Boise, Idaho, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 21, 2018. He was born and raised in Ogden, Utah where he attended Ben Lomond High School. He also attended Stevens Henager College where he studied accounting.

Lonnie joined the United States Navy in 1960, served two tours of duty on the USS Yorktown and was stationed for two years at the San Diego Naval Base in California. He received an honorable discharge in 1964, at which time he returned to Ogden with his family.

While living in Ogden, Lonnie met his wife Kandie. They were married November 5, 1969 in Evanston, Wyoming. They were sealed in the Boise Idaho LDS Temple on August 31, 2017 for time and all eternity.

Lonnie worked several places, finally retiring from Consolidated Freightways after 28 years. He enjoyed his hobbies of golfing and skiing. He would golf at least twice a week while his health allowed. Even when Lonnie’s health slowed him down, he continued to show his love and support for his family by attending any activity he possibly could and traveling to visit his children living out of state. He wanted all of them to know they were loved by him very much.

Anyone that knew Lonnie witnessed his love for his family. He was a proud grandpa to 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He and Kandie enjoyed the time they spent together watching their family grow.

Lonnie is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kandie; their two children, ShaRon Stewart and Jarred Hart, both of Boise, Idaho; and his children from his first marriage, Shellie Meyer, Kellie Hart and Bryan Hart, all of Green River, Wyoming and Jodie Lowell of Salt Lake City, Utah. He is also survived by five brothers and a sister: Garold Hart of Bluffdale, Utah; Lynda Osborn, Randy Hart, and Brent Hart of Ogden, Utah; Mike Hart of Auburn, Kentucky; and Scott Hart of Brigham City, Utah. Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, Anna and Sterling Hart; a sister, Sheryl Keneaster; and his son, Matt Hart.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at the Boise LDS West Stake Center, 3700 S Maple Grove Road, Boise, Idaho. A viewing will be held for friends and family one hour prior to the funeral service. Funeral services are under the direction of Relyea Funeral Chapel.
