Lorren Neil Davis

January 31, 1938 ~ June 6, 2022 (age 84) 84 Years Old

Tribute

Lorren Neil Davis, 84, of Meridian, Idaho, returned home Monday, June 6, 2022.

He was born on January 31, 1938, to Charles Henry and Mary Ellen (Jackson) Davis in Wendell, Idaho. He was the third of five children, three boys and two girls. As a native Idahoan, he grew up in the Jerome area and graduated from Jerome High School.

Lorren was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served for two years in the Eastern States Mission and held various callings in the church throughout his life.

He met his wife Evelyn (Eve) Hearn in Twin Falls at a church function. They were married in Boise and later sealed for time and all eternity. They are the parents of three children.

Lorren served in the United States Marine Corps working with Marine Air Control/Tactical Data Systems. He received a medical release in 1979 and was honorably discharged in 1984 with the rank of Gunnery Sergeant (GySgt). His service took him to California, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Japan, the Philippines, and Hawaii.

He joined the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) in the early 80’s and was a member of Albert W. Jardine Chapter #22. As a member of the DAV, he held numerous positions, including State Commander. He was elected as the 19th District National Executive Committee (NEC) Member from 2009 to 2011 and was appointed to the National Board of Directors for those two years.

He loved the outdoors and enjoyed many trips hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and camping. He was often the resident chef on these trips and found joy in feeding people. No one ever left his home hungry.

A highlight of his life was serving a family history mission with his wife in Salt Lake City, Utah. His faith and his family were the most important things in his life. He was a kind and generous man and will be missed by those who knew and loved him. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle.

Lorren is survived by his wife of 53 years, Eve; his children, Kandace (Kandee) Yearsley (Boise, ID), Kevin (Caldwell, ID), and Kari (Boise, ID); his grandchildren, Heather Yearsley (Meridian, ID), Kimberlee (Kim) and Jake Jenkins (Montana City, MT), Cory and Jay Rodgers (Park Hills, MO), Brian and Kayla (Ironton, MO), and Neil (Caldwell, ID); great-grandchildren, Jacob, Breeanna (Bree), Kaden, Kiara, Tristynn, Trinitee, Saige, Aspynn, McKinlee, and Sawyer; great-great grandchildren Johnathan, Ryker, Grayson, and Georgia; sisters, Ilene and George Jenkins (Hagerman, ID) and Carol Zimmerman (Aberdeen, ID); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Marvin and Lewis, and grandson Gregory (Greg) Yearsley.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that a donation be made in honor of Lorren to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Albert W. Jardine Chapter #22, P.O. Box 50071, Boise, ID 83705.
