Madeline Sylvia Hancock, 80, of Boise, died on Monday, March 16, 2020 at a local hospital. A simple graveside service will take place at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Shirl T. Hancock. Services are to be determined by the family on a future date.
Madeline was born in Brooklyn, NY, on May 23, 1939.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She adored her husband Shirl and her two boys William and Robert. She loved people, and it showed throughout her career in the senior health care industry. She loved her work with Alzheimer’s patients and seniors in general. She was always kind and considerate of others. Madeline was animal lover and adored her dogs.
She loved her friends in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was married to Shirl T. Hancock in the Mormon Temple here in Boise.
Madeline is survived by her sons William Hancock of Asheville, NC, and Robert Hancock of Boise; grandson Robert Hancock Jr. of Boise; two great-granddaughters Annabelle Hancock and Dasia Hancock of Fountain Hills, AZ; brother Paul Di Giaimo; nieces and nephews; as well as her numerous friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Shirl Hancock of Boise; grandson Thomas Hancock of Riverside, CA; parents Carmine and Madeline Di Giaimo of Los Angeles, CA; sister Rose; and two brothers, Ralph and Christie.
She will be forever be loved and missed by all who knew her.
