Mary L. Logan

August 20, 1930 ~ November 27, 2021 (age 91) 91 Years Old

Tribute

Mary was born on August 20, 1930, in Boise, Idaho. She passed away peacefully on November 27, 2021, at her home in Boise. She attended Boise schools, and on January 1, 1948, she married the love of her life Rupert “Jack” Logan. To this union five children were born, Kathy Logan, Nancy (Alan) Shark, Barbara Versoi, David (Diana) Logan and Linda (Tom) Kash.

Mary started her career at home taking care of the children. The family lived on a small acreage in west Boise. Mary had many friends in the neighborhood and at church. Jack and Mary owned several businesses in Boise before opening the Hilltop Café on Hwy 21. Mary was the bookkeeper, hostess and party planner for the restaurant. What started out as a little mom and pop business, quickly turned into a successful business with lines of waiting customers. They retired in 1977 from the Hilltop Café, giving Mary more time for family dinners on Sunday nights and perfecting her already excellent baking and canning skills. Mary passed down her cooking skills to her children & grandchildren. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, teaching them everything from knitting to canning to cooking and gardening. They moved to Boise, where they lived together for 11 years prior to Jack’s passing on Dec. 1, 2014. He has been greatly missed by all who knew him.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Irene Means and Minnie Vreeland, in-laws Rupert S. and Grace Logan, daughters Kathy and Barbara and son David Logan.

She is survived by her sisters Lois Little and Donna Braun, her children Nancy Shark (Alan) and Linda Kash (Tom), 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at the LDS Church Rose Creek Ward at 3555 South Cole Rd. at 1:00pm, Friday, Dec. 3 (viewing 12-12:45pm). There will be a light lunch served at the church after the service. Interment will be at Cloverdale Cemetery at 4:00pm.
