Michael Hasson

Michael “Mike” Hasson, 63, was taken from us much too early and unexpectantly. Born on September 7, 1958, to Marv and Corine Hasson, Mike was a true Boise native. Anyone that knew Mike, knew he had two major loves ~ his family and racing. If it was racing season, you could find Mike “At A Track” ~ smiling, helping, and putting out fires, literally. He spent over 25 happy years on Meridian Speedway’s Fire Crew, always ready to help where there was a need. The track, any track, was his happy place for 40 years. He once said: “If ants were going around in a circle, I’d watch.”

Maybe the only thing Mike loved more than the track was being with his granddaughters, Allie and Lainey. His “girlies” were the light of his life and melted his gruff-ole-bear exterior to mush. When he wasn’t at a track, you can bet that he was with his granddaughters. The bond that he shared with them is unbreakable, even in death.

You could always find his wife Terri at his side, as they enjoyed every aspect of life together. Where one was, you can be sure the other was too. Married on September 27, 1980, Mike and Terri (Dundon) went on to have an exceptional life together, having two sons, TJ and Jeff. Together, their family enjoyed going to the races, boating, and dirt biking.

Mike is survived by his loving wife Terri, sons TJ and Jeff, daughter-in-law Chelsea, and granddaughters Allie and Lainey. He is also survived by his mother Corine Hasson; sisters Marva (Dan) Rasmussen, Pam Stevens, and Cheryl Hasson-Knudsen; mother-in-law Shirly Dundon; brother-in-law Brad Dundon; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Marv Hasson and father-in-law Jim Dundon.
