Patricia Ann Howland

March 27, 1948 ~ February 18, 2020 (age 71) 71 Years Old

Tribute

On Tuesday, February 18, 2020, our loving and beautiful mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend, Patricia Howland (71), left this earth to be with our Heavenly Father and to be reunited with the family and friends she so deeply missed.

Pat was born on March 27, 1948, to Alexander and Ethel Kerbs in Rupert, Idaho, where she was the youngest of four and raised on a farm. Pat went on to graduate from Minico High School and then onto beauty school, where she began her life-long career as a hairdresser. After living in places like Florida and Salt Lake City (where her sons were born), she went back to Burley, Idaho, and then eventually to Boise, where she made it her home. This is where, as a single mother, she went on to raise her three boys, which ultimately became one of her biggest accomplishments and her pride and joy. Then on March 22, 1990, she was married to her best friend and soulmate, Richard Howland. Shortly after Rich’s passing on February 6, 2006, Pat retired and vowed to become sealed to Rich, which she was able to at the Boise LDS temple.
Pat loved to talk to anyone and everyone that was willing to listen. She always enjoyed making people laugh, sometimes it was just by being goofy or by pulling a prank on someone (like starting the water fights at the family reunions). Pat loved to fish! But what she greatly admired the most was the time she spent with family and friends.

Pat is survived by her sons, Yancy (Ginger) Memmott of Meridian, Idaho; Brandon Memmott of Bountiful, Utah; and Dustin (Desiree) Memmott of Meridian, Idaho; her brother Gil (Gwen) Kerbs of Rigby, Idaho; as well as her 9 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard, her father and mother Alexander and Ethel Kerbs, her brother Norman Kerbs, her sister Joyce Elquist, her friend Kathy Hellwell, and other family and friends.

Pat Howland’s services will be on Monday, March 2, 2020. There will be a viewing at the Relyea Funeral Chapel, starting at 11:30 a.m. and ending at 1:15 p.m. There will then be a graveside service in the band shell at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery starting promptly at 2:00 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Relyea Funeral Chapel and also by Bishop Kai E. Wittwer from the Devonshire Ward. The Relief Society will be providing a luncheon at the LDS church right after the ceremony at 5859 S. Maple Grove Rd., Boise, ID 83709.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations for funeral services (which can be donated directly to Relyea Funeral Chapel).

Mom, we already and will always miss and love you. We do find some comfort that you are at peace, in no pain and back with Rich and the many other family and friends who we’ve lost. We also know that until we see you again, we now have our Mom as a guardian angel to watch over us.
