Richard (Dick) Whitaker Chase was born June 4, 1941, in Pocatello, Idaho. Richard moved on (October 12, 2019) to live with his mother Violet, father Ernest Bennion, son Richard Browning, sister Ellen Chase Anderson and granddaughter Hope.

Richard will be missed greatly by his wife Carol Lynn Chase; his children, Wendy Prescott, Robin C. Bailey, Valerie Chase, KC Gordon, Brent B. Chase, and Amber C. Porter; brothers and sister - Dennis Chase, Linda C. Gonsalves, Robert Chase, James Chase; and his 20 beloved grandchildren.

He married Carol L. Browning on August 8, 1964, in the Idaho Falls temple. He worked with the family business -- Pocatello Greenhouse & Floral -- with his parents and siblings…later becoming soul owner/operator along with his wife and children. Also -- Cofounder of Citizens Community Bank.

Richard loved serving in the Idaho Army National Guard, operating tanks within the 116th Armored Cavalry Regiment. After 25 years of service, he retired in 1980 at the grade of First Sergeant.

He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1960 (North British Mission).
He served four other missions with his wife Carol L. -- Italy Rome Mission, a short service mission to Zambia, Africa, Polynesian Cultural Center, Laie Hawaii Mission, and Arizona Mesa Mission.

Richard served as Bishop of Highland 2nd ward in Pocatello, Idaho. He was adventurous and enjoyed scuba diving, mountain climbing, backpacking with his llamas, camping, but mostly enjoyed anything he could do with his family. He loved taking his family on traveling excursions … some were: Bonaire, Cayman Islands, Hawaii, Alaska, and most recently California. His family is his greatest joy. 3 John 1:4
