Richard William Ruth Jr.

Richard W. Ruth, Jr. passed away peacefully, at his home in Eagle, ID on March 20, 2022.

Born December 3, 1934 in Buffalo, NY to Richard Sr. and Helen Ruth (Keane). He was the oldest of five children and had many fond memories and stories of growing up there.

He joined the Air Force. While stationed in Idaho he met Evelyn. They married and had two children, Rick (Rena) and Carol. After his honorable discharge, he worked at Northup in CA. They bought a home in Boise, ID, where he worked for the Highway Department.

In 1983 Richard married Mary. They moved to CA where he worked as an Engineer at a high-rise in San Francisco. He retired in 1997 and came back to ID. After his retirement he worked at Sears part-time.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Mary.

Richard enjoyed every day of his life, being with family and friends and TV. He loved the outdoors; cutting wood, camping and fishing. He also loved to tinker around in his shop, using his talents.

The family would like to thank the Boise VA Hospital for their care and respect during his time spent there.

There will be a celebration of his “just marvelous” life at a later time.
