Richard "Dick" Henry Towner died at his home on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 in Payette, Idaho. Dick was born and grew up in Gunnison, Colorado where he also graduated from high school. Afterwards, Richard moved to Fort Collins, Colorado to attend Colorado State University for his bachelor degree in Animal Science. Richard excelled in his studies and was accepted into the PhD program at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin. Dick's doctoral studies focused on genetics in Animal Science that took him to Woodinville, Washington where he internationally consulted with farmers raising fish. While in Washington, he met and married his wife, Carol Susan "Sue" Lindberg in 1983. Towards the end of his career, Richard and Sue moved to a small farm in Payette, Idaho. In his spare time, Richard fished, shot guns, and played with their pet dogs and cats. Richard is survived by his sister, Kathleen (Grover) Shaw, a brother, Mark (Stacie) Towner, and eight nephews and nieces. He wss preceeded in death by his wife, Sue Towner, and his parents, Lloyd Eugene & Margaret Marie (Hals) Towner.
