Rulon was born in Thomas, Idaho on August 27, 1923. While working on the family farm, Rulon met the love of his life, Ethel Andersen, at the local skating rink. They were married in 1944 prior to his enlistment in the U.S. Army. He served in the Philippines and Japan. After being honorably discharged in 1946, he continued his service for several more years in the Idaho National Guard where he attained the rank of Major. He later worked as the manager of Sunspice Potatoes in Moses Lake, Washington. He and Ethel retired to Post Falls, Idaho where they lived until 1999. After Ethel’s death he moved to Boise, Idaho to be closer to family members. He passed away at the Idaho State Veterans Home in Boise on June 6, 2017. He is survived by 3 children; Priscilla, Tanya, and Ron; 7 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren
