Sherryl Lynn Winslow

December 25, 1956 ~ April 18, 2019 (age 62) 62 Years Old

Tribute

Sherryl Lynn Smith Winslow, 62, residing in Boise, Idaho, went to live with her Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ on April 18, 2019.  Sherryl passed away at home surrounded by her lovingly devoted family.

Sherryl began her life on Christmas Day in 1956 in Belle Glade, Florida, to the parents of Charles and Bernice Smith as the fourth and final child of the couple; her older siblings, Patricia Engstrom, Hilda (Bibbie) Brissey, and Thomas Smith, all moved to Greenwood, South Carolina, when she was 4. Sherryl graduated from Greenwood High School in 1974.

Sherryl married and had her first child, Elizabeth (Beth) in 1976. After a divorce, Sherryl packed up all of her belongings and daughter, Beth, and moved across the country and landed in Firth, Idaho.  She stayed with friends and went to work as a loan collector for Idaho First National Bank where she met the eternal love of her life, Gary Winslow, who was working in Mackay, Idaho. They were married on February 14, 1980, in a quiet ceremony. The couple were later sealed to each other for all time and eternity at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah, on November 15, 2000.

During Gary and Sherryl’s marriage, she happily followed him to many different cities where she found employment, as she was a very gifted and talented individual. With her smiling personality, she was a delight to everyone who came into contact with her.

Her three daughters were her inspiration and her life, and their happiness and well-being was one of her many achievements in life.  One secret she still has kept from her daughters is how she always stayed one step ahead of them and always knew what they were doing – there is something to say about a mother’s intuition.

Sherryl was always active in church, with callings she gratefully accepted and exceled in throughout her life.

Sherryl is survived by her husband of 39 years, Gary Winslow; children Tricia (Mickel) Eld, Stephanie Winslow, and Beth (Marcus) Gee; sisters, Patricia and Hilda, and brother Thomas, along with their spouses; grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, in laws, and many, many friends. Her therapy dog Daisy, a labradoodle, was also always at her side giving her love.  Sherryl was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and our little dog companions, Precious, Odie, Lilly and Chewy, along with many cats.

The family would like to recognize Harrison’s Hope for all the love and care that they gave Sherryl, and her whole family, during this journey.
